Heracles VS Callahan ( Greek Mythology VS Dream SMP )
Hybrid Demigods ( Callahan and Heracles are half human ) made from the king of the gods ( DreamXD and Zeus ) who were banished to Earth due by gods to their upbringing ( DreamXD didn't want Callahan anymore , while Heracles was sent to complete the twelve labors by Apollo ). Both wear brown fur hoods ( The Impenetrable hide of the Nemean Lion and Callahan’s….hoodie? ).
Both too have many contrasts. While Heracles is very active in his story, Callahan is very passive. While Callahan is known for being relatively chill, Heracles is short tempered and is infamous for his anger. Heracles eventually proved himself, while Callahan is unwilling to meet DreamXD.
Merry Christmas! I'm back….already….for the Christmas Special…it's been like 2 days.
Well what are we waiting for? This blog is going to be a short and sweet one, so let's get things kicked off.
Ground Rules:No outside help. No Gods of Olympus or members of the Dream SMP can help.
Callahan will be in creative mode with cheats on and Heracles will have his standard gear. Neither will be given their higher end statutes, so no God Heracles or Coder Callahan.
They will be in character as per usual.
Strength and durability:
Heracles greatest feat of strength should be when he took over the role of Atlas and lifted the Heavens.
While most depictions of art show this as a globe , Heracles was actually lifting up a celestial sphere, akin to a universe. Now, how big is Greek Mythology Universe? Luckily, we have a map.
Using the interpretation of the 10 cosmological spheres , the radius of the Greek Universe would be 5 times the radius of our universe. Meaning it would be 125 times universal by our standards of measurement.
Impressive ,however, Callahan in creative mode can alter the entire minecraft world, like changing the weather through /set weather.
Minecraft Earth is a universe, and is stated many times to be infinite , such as the end poem.
The Bedrock version of the game has a infinite world option.
And an interview with the official creator of the game, Notch.
By the properties of infinity, this would mean an infinite strength difference between Heracles and Callahan.
Speed:
This category is….interesting. In terms of calculations, Minecraft characters , and by extension Callahan, have extremely calculations for their level of power.
The furthest distance you can teleport in Minecraft using commands is 999,999,999 blocks. Sounds far…until you realize that each block is a meter. Even assuming that it took one game tick ( 1/20 of a second ), that is only 10 times the speed of light. This is a hax ability, meaning that this shouldn't scale to speed , though I'll use it for a high end estimate.
Heracles can react much…much faster. While the story varies from version to version, once he was so fed up with the desert Eagle that he fired an arrow to the Greek Sun of Helios. The sun in mythology is actually close to the edge of the Greek Universe.
Athena could also cross it in a relatively short period of time.
Being generous and assuming a time period of 10 seconds , and a distance of 465 billion light years (10×46.5 billion light year radius of our universe)
That would be about 1.47 Quintillion times the speed of light.
However , similarly to the strength category earlier, Callahan does have ways to scale to immeasurable speed through the nether and end.
Time does not work in the Nether and End. Upon entering the other dimensions, clocks spin wildly, bed explodes , items stop smelting, mobs stop spawning , Primed TNT pauses its explosion , etcetera, until the player returns. Time is practically paused in the nether. It is arguable that moving in the nether , at least in creative mode, is a form of immeasurable speed.
Callahan can also use commands to infinitely increase one's own speed. Worst comes to worse, he can also move in stopped time (/Dodaylightcycle false ).
Skill:
This one is very simple. Callahan is a very passive character , and at most shown skill comparable to middle tiers like Georgenotfound.
Meanwhile, this is Heracles. He has been fighting as a warrior since birth.
Experience:
This one is interesting. We are using pre-death Heracles before he becomes a god. If we were using his god form , he would be 3298 years old.
However we're not. Heracles is born on October 31st, 1276 BC , and dies sometime after the birth of Achilles in 1209 BC. He should have been pushing his late 70s to early 80s about the time of his demise.
Callahan is 25 years old in real life , potentially older in lore. The furthest date I can trace back accurately in the Dream SMP is 100 years ago in the [ Tales of the SMP | The Village That Went Mad ]
Callahan could be potentially 20 years older, but it is not confirmed. Experience should be roughly equivalent.
Intellect:
There isn't much here to discuss. Neither are really renowned for their astonishingly high or low intellect. Callahan is a coder, so it is likely that he is a good problem solver. Heracles is also a good problem solver.
That's all I got. They should be roughly equivalent.
Stamina:
Stamina wise Hercules doesn't have too much. He did tire out the Nemean Lion for his first labor, and he being the "God of Strength" should at least have increased stamina.
Though aside from out wrestling the Nemean Lion and completing the 12 labors, he doesn't have too many examples of Super stamina.
At least he has nothing to compare to Callahan's infinite stamina, since Minecraft characters do not actively need to sleep, added to the fact that Creative Mode means that Callahan will not lose hunger.
Versatility , gear and haxes:
Heracles has very few haxes and powers but what he does have certainly is powerful.
He wields many powerful artifacts, such as a club he found in Nemea.
The sword of Hermes.
And in my opinion the most dangerous of them all, Apollo's bow and Hydra Arrows.
Meanwhile Callahan has excess to the entire creative mode inventory and commands.
These practically affect the very fundamental mechanics of the game. From having excess to every item in the game , to locating structures with /locate , to even instant killing with /kill.
Counters:
In terms of counters, like versatility, Heracles does not have too much. His club and sword are nothing new to Callahan , and they don't pose any additional powers to be influential to the fight.
However , he is just either immune to or just straight up too powerful for a large majority of Callahan’s creative mode gear and versatility. No potions of poison or blocks of TNT are powerful enough to affect Heracles. Summons like the Iron golems or even more powerful command summons like the Ender Dragon , Withers and Lightning, but they aren't powerful enough.
Even harming potions, which can bypass durability, have shown nothing on the level of injuring a god like Heracles.
He will plow through them with raw power.
He does have one weapon that can change the battle. His Hydra Arrows can definitely bypass Callahan's durability and invincibility , given that it could bypass Heracles' own defenses. A lole covered in Hydra poison managed to not only poison Heracles , but straight up killed him. Safe to say , it's potent, and it is powerful enough to kill Callahan.
There's a small problem though. That's kind of all Heracles has going for him. His strength, his speed and those hydra Arrows.
Callahan has such an absurdly large gearset that he basically can control the entire battlefield.
Firstly, Callahan has many ways to bypass the Hydra Arrows. He can turn intangible via spectator mode and phase through the arrow. He can teleport away (Ender Pearls or /tp), he can kill all other entities (Fired Arrows in Minecraft are considered as entities.), he can clear all of Heracles gear ( /clear inventory ), among others. Milk and Totems of Undying can also ensure no long lasting effect can be applied.
Totems of Undying can prevent death temporarily, ensuring that Callahan won't be overwhelmed by speed.
Then, we get into all the stuff that Heracles cannot counter. Potions like blindness with night vision or nausea would work effectively given that Heracles also has epilepsy in lore. Weakness and slowness will also lower Heracles physical stats.
Finally we get into the commands. Heracles has encountered nothing similar to any of the following.
/freeze stops all mobs in place, which would include Heracles.
/gamemode spectator will also send Heracles into Spectator mode, in which he'll be unable to continue with the fight counting in a loss. He also can send him to the nether or end.
/ban kicks Heracles out of that Minecraft World, which would too count as battlefield removal.
The /kill command does as it says. It kills whoever the writer selects. To my surprise, nothing I can find has any concrete evidence for Heracles to counter this, seeing as this command can also kill the player.
Let's finish this up.
Final Verdict:
Callahan :
=Intellect
~Experience
+Stronger
+Faster
+Versatility
+Haxes
+Gear
+Win Conditions
+BattleField Control
+Counters
Heracles :
=Intellect
~Experience
++Higher Calculations for stats.
+Skill
+Hydra Arrows can kill….
-but Callahan has ways around it.
I think the victor should be clear at this point. Yes, Heracles is powerful. Very powerful. Hundreds of times universal is no easy wall, but he's a one trick pony.
He is strong, fast ,and he can take you out with a bow, but that's all he's got.
Callahan might not be stronger physically, but he is more powerful and he is faster. He can dodge the arrows, tank some arrows, if wanted he could just remove all of Heracles weaponry.
Meanwhile Callahan has multiple ways to win including several uncounterable haxes and even a one shot kill.
The answer here is pretty obvious when you take everything into account.
Winner: Callahan ( Dream SMP )
Merry Christmas everyone! And to those who don't celebrate Happy Holidays!
It's been a crazy year, with war, love and loss, there is still so much more I want to do, so stay tuned.
Thank you for your time. Bye!
