Static VS Spiderman ( DC VS Marvel Comics )

Geeky, African-American, teenage comic book superheroes with electrokinetic powers. Both originate from universes (Earth-1610 and the Dakotaverse, respectively) that were the central locations of alternate comic imprints (Ultimate Marvel and Milestone Comics, respectively) separate from their series' main continuity (Earth-616 and New Earth, respectively), but ultimately ended up in them after their original universes were destroyed in multiverse-threatening events (Secret Wars and Final Crisis, respectively), and continued their superhero careers there. Both gained their superpowers after being accidentally exposed to something that altered their DNA (a radioactive spider and Quantum Juice, respectively), and both also have parents (Jefferson and Rio Morales, and Robert and Jean Hawkins, respectively) who were initially hostile to their son's superhero alter-ego.

"Watts up danger!"

Miles Morales VS Static Shock.

It's been a good break, but we're back with another blog. This time it'll be between the Young Spiderman and Static, it's been a long time since I've covered a Spiderman and a street tier DC character , so let's get started.

Ground Rules:

No outside help. No outside non-standard gear. They will be in character. They will be given their high end feats in line with what makes sense for their character.

Power:

The last time I covered a Marvel Comic Street Tier in depth was with Deadpool all the way last year in January. With both Miles & Vergil being on the middle tiers of power in the scale of Marvel & DC, it could be good to set a foundation for Street Tier characters.

DC Street Tier:

Last time we left off with Batman taking an explosion from an alien worth about 10.8 Kilotons of TnT. ( Town Level )

Impressive, but we can go further from that. Batman has walked off self-destruction from Atomic Skull.

[ He walked off. As in he walked off. ]

Roy Harper has tanked the explosion of his gun with 600 Terawatts worth of energy. (143 Kilotons of TnT) ( Large Town Level )

The 2 most impressive feats are both from Midnighter, who took an explosion at 16 Megatons of TnT.

And most impressively, took a blast that could Level an entire city.

[ Don't ask me what's happening here, I have no idea either. ]

Marvel Street Tier:

For the baseline level, Wolverine has taken a nuclear blast this big.

Captain America also thinks he can survive a dirty bomb that could level Coney Island.

Hawkeye also has arrows with an explosive yield of 30 Megatons ( City Level ).

Most impressively, the builder's have a ship that could move 0.2 times the speed of light.

And then they launched it at Captain America, packing a kinetic energy all the way up to destroy large islands.

Other Scaling:

Static unfortunately is lacking on his own feats with high calculations. His greatest individual feat is scaling to Permafrost who created a massive snowstorm.

However debatably - very debatably - he might be able to scale to Captain Cold's cold gun, which created an outer perimeter of ice around the entire central city.

Captain Cold's gun is probably the highest Static can scale. Captain Cold is a human, but that gun drives him to an entirely new level. Captain Cold's gun can genuinely injure Superman Level opponents like Wonder Woman, Green Lantern & Flash.

This isn't without reason too. The cold gun brings an object's temperature down to absolute zero when all particles literally stop disorderly movement, which is what makes it so dangerous. With it, he is able to briefly match Superman's heat vision.

The cold gun is what makes Captain Cold an actual threat to the Flash, and Static has not really shown scaling on par.

Generally, Static should only be slightly above the Street Tier, around slightly above people like Batman or Ravager.

Besides, Captain America surviving a relativistic space crash is still 3 times more potent than what the Cold gun has displayed.

That's just a fraction of the might of the Ultimate Spiderman. Ghost-Spider & Spider-Punk was at the epicenter of this massive release of energy.

For perspective, this is over 204 times more powerful than the Cold Gun, and 1.3 million times greater than Midnighter's greatest durability feat.

Static has some juice behind his hits, but he pales to Spiderman here.

Speed:

This category is actually a relatively simple one compared to what we just covered for power. Both very simply have faster-than-light reaction speeds.

Many street tiers in both Marvel & DC can also react in nanoseconds -such as Deathstroke & Daredevil. This gets to around 4.3-5.3 times the speed of light.

However, Spider-man can get above this to 9.3c. Even Spider-men without Spider-senses can get to 9.4c, as shown with Spiderman 2099.

Abilities & Counters:

Miles has all your standard abilities you would expect from any Spider-man. Think of enhanced strength, speed and durability. He can stick onto walls via his skin, and swing through the city with his web shooters. His spider-sense helps alert him of danger before it arrives.

Additionally, he has a few of his own abilities, such as invisibility and his shocking bio-electricity manipulation. By weaponising his body’s natural electricity, he’s able to do things like blast electrical venom blasts, powering up his punches, shooting out projectiles or harnessing it as webs or even a sword.

Static meanwhile is comparatively weaker, but what he does have he is extremely proficient in. Static has electrokinesis, specifically molecular electromagnetism. This means he can do things such as manipulating the charges in objects down to the electron.

TL;DR, It gives him a lot of powers and counters. His electromagnetic fields can increase his durability and he can augment his strength to increased levels.

He is more suited to absorb Miles's electricity attacks better than Miles can absorb Static's attacks. He can also light up Miles's aura , nullifying his invisibility.

From there , Static can manipulate Miles's more fundamental powers - such as Wall Crawling - simply by manipulating his bio-electrical fields. He could possibly even affect his spider sense to a degree.

Combine that with his other versatility like regeneration, great ranged options and flight, and he has massive battlefield dominance here.

Tertiary factors:

I'm going to shorten Skill, Experience, Intellect & Stamina into one category from now onwards, because usually there isn't too much that is relevant to cover that is actually interesting.

Generally they are all around the same level. Neither have shown notably exceptional differences in any of these stats that could play in the long run.  Static has proved pretty smart though, specifically with his electron manipulation, which could be worth noting, though it isn't much Miles cannot do.

Final Verdict:

Spiderman:

+Much Stronger

+Much Faster

+Greater skill

=Stamina

=Intellect

Static:

+More abilities

+Perfectly counters Miles’s abiliites

+Greater experience

+Battlefield control

=Stamina

=Intellect

-Does not have an easy win condition

Static counters a majority of Spider-man’s abilities in a stunningly perfect way, down to the most fundamental abilities like wall crawling and the Spider-Sense. He can leave him practically as a grounded sitting duck while he has all of the battlefield to himself. In any other scenario, I would give Static the victory in the heartbeat.

One catch. Miles Morales is just too strong.

Miles is millions of times stronger and twice as fast. Static is going to have to play the long game and slowly widdle Miles down to a knockout. Miles meanwhile just needs one good hit and it's game over.

I just simply like those odds more.

Static’s shocking versatility can certainly give Miles a run for his money, but the young Spider-man is simply too strong, fast & resilient for Virgil.

Winner: Spiderman

A lot shorter of a blog this time. I'm currently going through a work-intensive period and time is not of the plenty. Expect a few shorter blogs for a while. Still, I have a few new series I would still love to cover.
