Tank Girl VS Harley Quinn [ TankGirl Comics VS DC Comics ]
Both are crazy comic book gals who rose to fame in the 1990's, hitting the mainstream with a movie that despite its flaws was very popular and influential for the character. Both are naturally blonde haired, but consistently dye it blue.
Both are known for their crazed and spontaneous acts that often involve foul language, brutal violence, and flirty advances.
Both have been a female symbol for the LGBTQ+. Both have a crazed boyfriend who they are often linked with. (Although the contrast here is that the Joker abused and hated Harley, while Booga actually loves and has a relatively healthy relationship with Tank Girl)
Both killed the men believed to be their fathers.
While both are immature, they are actually quite clever and are not as dumb as one might initially perceive. Both are played by Margot Robbie. (In the Suicide Squad as well as Birds of Prey movies and in the upcoming Tank Girl reboot)
Both are portrayed as outlaws who work with a bunch of lunatics in a sort of bounty hunter group who fight wacky out of this world forces who are way out of their league.
Both love themselves some over the top weapons which frequently consist of explosives.
Both have a tendency to be very meta and occasionally break the 4th wall. Both are usually accompanied by a small group of animal sidekicks (Bud & Lou for Harley and Camp Koala, Squeaky Toy Rat & Mr. Precocious for Tank Girl)
Harley Quinn VS Tank Girl
This will be one of my first blogs starring female characters, in which I procrastinated….until the end of April…..
No more time to waste , let's jump into it.
Warning:
Tank Girl is a vulgar 18+ series. I tried to keep it to a minimum , but some things involving her are pretty weird.
Ground Rules:
No outside help. No outside non-standard gear. They will be in character. They will be given their high end feats in line with what makes sense for their character.
Strength & Durability:
DC Street tier has gotten a bit of an increase since I last covered them in “ Dream VS Joker ”. Batman has taken this alien explosion, which exploded for about 6.4 -10.8 kilotons of TnT.
To be fair , Batman was taken out by the explosion - along with others like Superman, Wonder Woman, and other Cosmic Level characters - it is questionable whether Batman should actually be comparable to this.
However, people like Geoforce have generated enough power to overwhelm a device made to contain enough electricity to “ Light up Manhattan”, placed at 28.3 kilotons of TnT.
Which characters on Harley's Level, like Deathstroke , should scale to.
Adam Strange even once shot himself to the sun. Estimating 20 hours , that would a minimum of require 41 Kilotons of TnT.
At her absolute best, she can take hits from Static. One of Static’s villains , Permafrost, can destroy massive ice structures within a small time frame ( 23.9 Kilotons of TnT ). Permafrost can also cover miles of City in snow, which would put her at 132.7 Kilotons of TnT.
Harley Quinn should solidly be in the Town Level of attack potency and defensive capabilities .
Tank Girl meanwhile is more reliant on her weapons to get work done. I mean she is Tankgirl after all. Tank Girl has done all the usual street tier stuff, like knocking out people in a single hit, but that's nothing compared to Harley Quinn.
Tank Girl survived a plane crash and came out of it relatively fine. Assuming complete fragmentation of the plane, at most puts her at 3.88 tons of TnT.
That is like…2,000 times weaker than the lower calculations for Harley Quinn.
Tank Girl is obviously known for her, well , Tank. How powerful is her Tank?
Honestly….not that powerful. It has contributed a few explosions , but nothing more than what Tank Girl can survive herself.
Weaker tank missiles only cap at about just 1 Kiloton, meaning about a 10 - 100 times difference from Harley . Even assuming a W9 warhead, a bomb that rivals Hiroshima, that only reaches about 15 Kilotons.
Harley Quinn has taken visibly larger explosions even before getting a power boost from Poison Ivy. 1 kiloton is already extremely generous.
Harley Quinn should have the power advantage, even given Tank Girl’s extended arsenal. Harley has more firepower than a tank….
Speed:
Speed is quite a simple category.
Tank Girl's best speed feat is dodging bullets.
Harley dances around light.
She is also comparable to Black Canary , who can react in Nanoseconds ( 3.3 - 4.3c)
Skill & Experience:
Tank Girl in a medical examination is stated to have the reaction speed twice that of a military soldier. She too has taken part in wars.
Meanwhile, Harley -despite her appearance - is extremely skilled.
Harley has danced around the Bat Family.
Absolutely demolished the Joker.
Harley has even danced around Batman. Blocking his attacks and even knocking him out with a hammer.
Batman ; Knows 127 martial arts , mastered every martial arts and made his own called "Bam-pow" , knows 463 ways to take down someone without drawing blood , and is stated to be the greatest fighter in the world.
Harley is leagues above Tank Girl’s skill level.
Intellect & Stamina:
Tank Girl intellect isn't exceptional.
She does claim to have a photographic memory , and backed it up a few seconds later by reconstructing a shop she had seen earlier.
And she had recognised tank models and their history from just looking at a vintage tank.
Harley however , is actually genuinely intelligent.
She is smarter enough to have an actual PHD, and if needed she can be extremely intelligent.
Abilities & Gear:
Tank Girl, while being heavily gear based, does not have that diverse of gear.
She has her tank, and the defense that comes alongside that. She has all your standard street tier gear too, like explosives and guns.
Has a tranquilizer that can knock out a yeti, and a reverse gun that can redirect bullets.
She has a flamethrower that could incinerate a group of men and a stink bomb that made an entire supermarket sick .
Last and…most definitely not least….a testical gun. It grows one’s testicals to 100 times its previous size…..which caused a pilot to lose control and crash. Holy fuck dude.
Now onto Harley.
Harley was actually given a small degree of superhuman reflexes from Poison Ivy, becoming stronger and more agile. She also got a small healing factor.
Harley too has the standard street tier gear. Melee weapons like baseball bats and guns.
In addition , tasers , yoyos and acid.
She also has her many gas attacks , be it Joker toxin, sleeping gas or even mind control. [ It might be important to note that she has made it non-lethal after breaking up with the Joker ]
She even has things like a jetpack , and smoke bombs which even stunned Batman.
Counters:
Harley has quite a few reasonable advantages against Tank Girl’s equipment. Tank Girl’s…..testical expander thingy wouldn’t work as Harley…..does not have testicles.
That takes the cake for the strangest sentence I have ever written on this blog.
Tank Girl’s gear, while diverse, isn’t really potent enough to make a severe impact on Harleen. As stated earlier in the strength category, Tank Girl’s gear is not strong enough to take down Harley. On the flip side, Harley is more than powerful enough to tear through Tank Girl’s tank.
Harley Quinn is stronger than a tank…..that’s a weird thing to say.
Meanwhile, when up close , there isn't very much Tank Girl can do to Harley. Her stink gasses won't work on Harley given her exposure to the Joker Toxin , but even the weaker non-lethal Joker Toxin Harley uses is guaranteed to take Tank Girl out.
Plus Harley's other gear , like mind control.
Final Verdict:
Harley Quinn:

Tank Girl:

Harley Quinn is on a different tier compared to Tank Girl. They are on 2 different ends of the spectrum. Even giving conservative estimates , Harley is 2000 times stronger and 3.5 million times faster.
She takes the majority of the advantages , and every advantage she doesn’t take, she has a greater counter.
Ultimately when comparing Harley and Tank Girl , the worlds of both makes it obvious who would win. Tank Girl is a goofy character in a relatively weird but grounded world.
For as grounded as DC is , Harley has dealt with threats and challenges Tank Girl can never dream of surviving; Like superhuman and even new gods. The Fantastic Harley Quinn is on a different level.
