Green Lantern (Detective Comics) VS Ben 10 ( Ben 10)

Today's the day. The final manhunt for Dream , at least for now. Super excited for this one , definitely going to need feats for the mid-year project. Still...got to keep to my promise.

Two famous emerald human heroes who gained comsic powers and universe wide recognition from getting a green object ( Green Lantern Ring and The Omnitrix ) they got from space. Through this weapon , they joined their world's head force ( The Justice League and The Plumbers ) in the name of order and peace , along with many other heroes ( For example : Superman , Gwen Tennyson , etc ). Despite being a force on a galactic scale , they tend to stick on earth and have their own personal alteregos ( Hal Jordan and Benjamin Tennyson). Through their journeys , they make new allies ( Flash and Kevin ) , arch enemies ( Sinestro and Albedo ) and even meet alternate universe versions of themselves ( For example : God of Light and Ben Ten Thousand, etc ) . 

This is my first truly cosmic level of versus battle , between 2 universal beasts not just street levelers. We've done the Batman levels, now it's time for the Superman levels. It also introduces a new series , Ben 10. Before even researching this blog , there is so much I know I have to cover. Dozens of transformations , Hundreds of abilities and one heck of a battle. What have I gotten myself into?

Let's get started with the ground rules:

We'll be using Standard Rebirth Green Lantern and Prime Ben 10. Rebirth have all the feats of post crisis and so that has been my standard go to version for most DC Characters. 

We are not using Kid Ben 10,Ben 10,000 , Gwen 10 , Ben 23, etc , etc , like how we are not using Alan Scott , Parallex Hal Jordan, Dawnbreaker or The Specture for example. 

They will also only have their standard gear, a.k.a. The green Lantern Ring and The Omnitrix. No white lantern ring , no green lantern power battery , no sword of ascalon , etc , etc. 

No outside assistance from the Justice League , The Plumbers , The green lantern Corp, etc. 

And I think with that I have covered the ground rules , lets get started:

Now this is one of the strangest battles I have ever done , because it's using one of the most versatile characters out there, Ben 10. So I have to do things a tiny bit differently. 

A lot of his transformations pale to even the average green lantern.The average Green Lantern can move supernovas on a weekly basis and hold in galaxies with their constructs , can travel across the DC Universe in 10 hours at cruising speed , the DC universe being around a billion times larger than our universe. 

Greymatter isn't going to even move green lantern. As fast as XL-R8 and Jetray are , they aren't faster than even the average green lantern's cruising speed. Armodrillo is strong, Green Lanterns are stronger. There are only a few aliens worth noting because of their hacks or their power , or maybe even both. So let's go down the list.

Ultimate Way Big, Ultimate Humungousaur and Atomix are the head liners for physical strength . 

Ultimate Swamp Fire , Big Chill , Heat Blast and NRG Line the top for pure power. 

Upchuck , Chromastone and Feedback are the top of the energy absorption class. 

Gravattack , Ghostfreak , Echo Echo , Upgrade and Clockwork are the ones with extra haxes.

Then obviously the big gun Alien X.

Strength:

So out of the 3 listed strength class , the most powerful is obviously Ultimate Way Big. He is at most Dwarf Star level through scaling to Malware. However thats around the average task for a Lantern , let alone one of the most powerful Green Lanterns out there. So without Alien X, Ben cannot out power Hal consistently.  

Power:

It doesn't get better for Ben. The most powerful alien of the 4 is NRG, who mere existence is so powerful he has a suit to contain it. His upper-range of power is equivalent to that of a nuclear bomb. That's nothing compared to Lantern's causal output . There is one form that could fight Lantern in terms of power, and that is Alien X. 

Energy absorption:

Out of the 3 listed , Feedback has shown the best feat , being able to absorb and fire back out a big bang. However, those 3 have the same weaknesses, Green Lantern can just punch them out. They have very strong energy absorpion haxes but if Lantern doesn't use energy projection, they at most are building level if you push it. 

Lanterns have consistently shown to be plantery at least in terms of striking power, unless if Ben uses his power in a smart way ( We'll get to that later) , he is more likely to get one shot by Hal if he doesn't use Alien X. 

Extra abilities:

Gravattack and Ultimate Echo Echo are powerful and worth noting for their powers but Green Lantern still steamrolls them in shear power.

Green Lanterns have withstood the gravitional pull of suns and handle blackholes pretty causally so gravattack isn't going to do much. 

Ultimate Echo Echo has defeated Ultimate Kevin by himself but that isn't really enough in the power department to handle the sheer output of a galactic threat like the green lanterns.

Ghostfreak can turn invisible and intangible and has mind control , but Green Lantern has been taught how to vibrate his constructs from the Flash. Green Lanterns can turn invisible too, and ghostfreak's power level is building level at max , lower than Green Lantern's on a causal day. Hal has also resisted Staro's and Krona's mind control so Hal won't be mind controlled by Ghostfreak.

Upgrade is a unique case since he connects directly to the tech , giving it a literal "Upgrade" to the technology , and the Green Lantern ring is a piece of technology. A very powerful piece of technology , but still Technology , so Upgrade can enter the ring from the inside. However there are 2 things , the green lantern ring is beyond anything upgrade has effected and and upgrade can only affect technology with contact. Green Lantern's have a large amount of long range weapons so Upgrade is going to have a hard time entering the ring . I doubt upgrade has more control over the ring than Hal , especially since when Kyle Rayner , another very powerful Green Lantern with his own universal feats , was overwhelmed and stuck on place by the pure willTwo famous emerald human heroes who gained comsic powers and universe wide recognition from getting a green object ( Green Lantern Ring and The Omnitrix ) they got from space. Gravattack, Ultimate Echo Echo , Upgrade, etc aren't the threats to Hal , that title belongs to Clockwork. Clockwork , like the word "Clock" would suggests , has time related powers. 

The list he has shown is :

Fast Foward Time ,Slow Down Time ,Reverse time, and age up objects , even age objects up to dust. Lets go down the list. Fast forwarding time won't really work in any way I can see helpful. Green Lanterns are also massively faster than light in combat and reaction speed so slowing down time only somewhat levels the playing field, but only in slightly. Hal can reverse time too, but notably with more effort needed than clockwork. Green Lanterns can theorically live forever , if they have enough will that is. And seeing how Hal is literally the most willed green lantern out there( I will show examples later ), he shouldn't be effected enough to lose the fight. Especially since Clockwork is building level if you scale him to characters like Xlr8 or Four Arms. 

Ben isn't going to outhax the green Lantern without alien X. 

Overall + Benjamin Tennyson Vs Hal Jordan: 

So overall ben's aliens isn't going to win without alien X by themselves , but maybe together they can. An often overlooked part of Ben 10 is that he's actually extremely skilled and smart without the use of the Alien X, despite most of the time relying on his powers. He has stated he had a photographic memory, actually proved it by rehearsing a line of magical text after seeing it once. He has training in martial arts and acrobats from the plumbers , being able to dodge laser fire and fight with one and two handed weapons like sticks. Hal himself is a fighter pilot , so he's going to have to be skilled and strong but if they were to fight hand to hand (Without the Omnitrix or Green Lantern Power ring) , my money will be on Ben. Neither will lose their weapons, They both have advanced counter measures , and I doubt Ben could control a power ring better than Hal could or Hal could control te Omnitrix better than Ben could. But still, worth noting. 

So could Ben overall without Alien X win against Hal? If we use lower end Hal , then maybe. Ben does have a lot of powers that can catch the Lantern off guard , like mind control , time manipulation and energy absorption, but overall he's just not powerful enough to defeat Hal. 

Two Thousand words down and we still aren't even at the main event , this is it folks. 

Alien X VS Green Lantern:

Ground rules: 

So I want to get to get some important notes down first. Alien X isnt omnipotent, some Ben fans agrue that when they don't even know what that means. 

"Omni" means "All" , "Potent" means power, so omnipotent means all-powerful. If you cannot get something you want , if you get tired , if you struggle , if you have an equal , if you lose fights,etc, etc, etc,you're not omnipotent. 

Thanos could not get Death's love , not omnipotent. 

Saitama gets tired , not omnipotent. 

Superman has been stalemated by doomsday , Martain manhunter, etc , not omnipotent. 

Goku has lost several fights , an example is against cell, not omnipotent. 

And Again , Alien X has struggled against other celestialsapiens , not omnipotent. 

In versus debating we have to treat things fairly , and if Green Lantern feats and abilities counter Alien X feats and abilities, he wins fair and square. 

Without a do...

Strength and Power:

In terms of Strength, their strength should scale to their power. 

Let's see what X can do. 

Firstly he's recreated the universe , 

Celestrialsapiens have been stated to be able to destroy universes as they please.

X has defeated Galactic Gladiator, the strongest of the celestrialsapiens outside of Alien X. 

Very impressive, What can Hal do.

Hal has defeated Amazo with the powers of the league , including superman , wonder woman ,Martain manhunter and the flash, all of the above having universal feats or feats that scale to universal characters.

He has defeated General Zod , fellow Superman villian under three yellow suns. General Zod most of the time is shown to be superman's equal even under one yellow sun.

Hal scales to other head Lanterns like Kyle Rayner , Sinestro, Larfleeze, etc. Kyle Rayner has hold in the big bang in his constructs, and again Kyle was overwhelmed with power by even wearing Hal's ring , even gave Hal some control over Rayner's body for a while. 

Hal has defeated several emotional entities by himself , emotional entities are the manifestation of all of that emotion in the universe. For example he defeated Parallex, Parallex being as powerful as all the fear in the universe, like the yellow Lanterns and all other life, with only few like Sinestro , Hal and Batman , etc being able to even see it. 

He created a real green lantern ring, only the guardians of the universe should have the power and knowledge to make one. 

And one of his most impressive feats, maybe even his most impressive feat , his killing of Krona who was channelling the emotional entity of will. The guy was a threat to all the Lantern corps at once , he is a guardian of the universe himself and even was responsible for one of the most powerful entities in all of DC comics , the Antimontior. And Hal just pierced straight through him with the power of his will. 

So....who's more powerful? Well based on what we've discussed they should be roughly equal right? Well err....The Green Lantern has one more trick up his sleeve. The DC Universe is larger than the Ben 10 universe by a large margin. Ben 10 universe should be around the same as a normal universe , around 100 Billion Light years in diameter if we round up. The DC universe is 100 Trillion Light years in diameter, so calculating out , a DC universe is around a billion times larger than our universe and by extension , The Ben 10 Universe. Even if Alien X was a thousand times more powerful than he has shown, even if he was A MILLION times what he has shown , he is still a thousand times weaker than Green Lantern at minimum. Yeah Green Lantern has the strength category down.

Speed: 

Who is faster? 

Alien X moved fast enough to create a galaxy size black hole and should be faster than Jetray who travelled into hyper speed , both feats should put Alien X at massively faster than light. This should put Alien X at 7 quadrillion times the speed of light. 

Yeah impressive but crossing the 100 trillion light years in 10 hours , also known as the avergae green lantern cruising speed , has been calculated as 87.6 quadrillion time the speed of light. 

That's just an average Lantern, Green Lantern can do that in just an hour , making his top speed 876 quadrillion times the speed of light. He's anywhere from 13 to 125 times faster than X. 

Not like that's hal's most impressive feat , he has almost entered the speedforce under his own speed. That's something even flashes struggle with , let alone a Lantern. 

Skill , Intelligence and Experience:

Alien X is comprised of not only Ben's mind , but also Serena and Bellicus , The voice of love and compassion and the voice of rage aggression respectively , with Ben as the voice of reason. Though Ben is the only controlling the body, he can get assistance from them. They are cosmic entities that exist since the birth of the omniverse. Green Lantern can check information from his ring's data , but I don't think it can keep up with the skill and experience of Serena , Bellicus and Ben. Intelligence is roughly the same , both have their highs and lows .

Gear and abilities:

Their gear are directly connected to their abilities so it's really about their abilities.  

Alien X : Size manipulation , Universe Creation, Time rewinding , Forcefields, Telekinesis, Duplication , Portal creation, Erasion, Mind control. 

So what does the Green Lantern have against that? Firstly let's remove what Lantern can handle. Green Lantern has handled the destruction of universes and Darkseid's omega beams before , even blocked them with his constructs. Omega Beams have been stated to be capable of disintegrating anything , including Batman's plot armour. "They could just blink and they would be gone" , well Kilowag , another lantern below Hal has resisted a literal retcon . I dont think Alien X has anything on that. 

Portals have not been used in a way that can significantly affect the fight, especially since Lantern is faster.

Size manipulation won't help too much as well , especially since Lantern is faster, more powerful and he has constructs to match X's size. 

His Telekinesis hasnt been used on a high enough scale to be super effective , neither has his mind haxs. 

Forcefields and Time rewinding , Hal can do that too. 

Alien X can create a Universe , Hal can destroy universes a trillion times larger. 

He has used his duplication in a very smart way. Too bad Green Lantern has literally made the entire Justice League of America as constructs . Not just the core seven members of League, The entire cast of the League. Alien X's clonies are likely stronger , but Hal can match them with numbers. 

He can trap people in his ring as well, including sinestro who should rival Kyle's universal feats. I'm not too sure if Alien X has the fire power to escape. 

Conclusion:

Who wins? I hope I've made it pretty clear in my analysis , Hal Jordan has my vote. 

Let me be clear , Ben 10 has a strong chance as well, especially with time manipulation being slightly stronger than Hal's, He is more skilled and experienced , and the fact he has not shown his full power. Hal's ring also needs recharging if used too long , and the Omnitrix doesn't. Especially if you compare the average Green Lantern to the avergae Celestrialsapien.

Yes , Consistent Green Lantern Vs Peak Ben 10, maybe Ben could win. But we have to treat them fairly , either both at their peak without outliers.

Hal has far , far too many ways to take home the win. He's far stronger , far faster and can counter 99% of the things Ben can do and could do most better. He's shown this level of power and speed several times, while Alien X really only has a few appearances and statements Ben is going to have to clinch onto to even stand a chance. 

So in my personal opinion:

Winner: Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)

This is probably the most controversial fight I've done so far , but I'm very satisfied with this one. This is the longest Blog I've done so far and I'm surprised at the outcome of Hal winning. I had forgotten how Over powered DC Characters could be. With around 4000 words , Im pretty sure it's longer than my first 3 blogs combined, and it is my longest Blog so far. Also one of the most annoying , since The Ben 10 Universe is much more complex compared to what I expected. 

Our first dive into the cosmic. What a match. So....What next...Well....next month is march. Obviously as a big fan of the Dream Smp , I would want to celebrate my favourite youtubers birthday's. But Sapnap and Phil don't have their own match that i really like yet , though sapnap is chaotic and philza is a father-ly figure so...

Chaotic anti-hero fathers duel next month. That's all I have this month , hope you enjoyed.
